Mastering Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Echo Strategies, Combat Tips & Exploration Guide

Understanding and Using Echoes

The Tri Rod grants Zelda key abilities beyond just creating echoes. Bind and Reverse Bond are powerful tools.

  • Bind: Can tug buried chests, hold enemies, or bind Zelda to echoes like the Crawltula or Keese for traversal.

  • Reverse Bond: Allows movement of platforms and large rocks.

Use the Echo Notebook (main menu) to track and understand echoes.

  • Access quickly using the Right Directional or L Button.

  • Sort echoes by Last Used, Most Used, Last Learned, Cost, and Type.

  • Echoes have energy costs, visualized as floating triangles.

To control Monster Echoes:

  • Hold ZL to target enemies

  • Re-press to switch targets

  • Tri power determines how many echoes you can summon. If energy is low, the game auto-disperses an older echo (flashing yellow).

Combat Tips

Combat in Echoes of Wisdom is varied and strategic. Here are essential tactics:

Use the Elements

  • Fire beats plant-based enemies.

  • Wind Cannon puts out flames.

  • Buzz Blob’s electric shock is stronger in wet conditions.

Target Specific Enemy Types

  • Use flying echoes against flying enemies.

  • Mothulas are highly effective aerial attackers.

Early Game Echoes

  • Peahat: Wide spin attack, great crowd control.

  • Spear Moblin: Found in Suthorn Forest; good ranged attacks.

  • Keese: Excellent for air support.

Mid Game Echoes

  • After the fourth dungeon, visit Faron Wetlands to fight a Level 3 Lizalfos for a powerful summon.

  • Use Level 2 Tanglers to simplify the underwater battle.

End Game Echoes

  • Lynel: The hardest-hitting echo.

  • Found in Eternal Forest by following tracks. Bring lots of smoothies.

Quick Recall and Resend

  • Recall + immediate resummon during boss downtime = major burst damage (especially with Wizzrobes).

Prioritize Upgrades

  • Visit Lueberry to spend Might Crystals:

    1. Energy Level

    2. Sword Power

    3. Bow Attack

  • Crystals can be found in rock/dirt formations and from quests.

Use Automatons

  • Created by Dampe. These help in combat and boss fights.

  • Toktorok Automaton: Fires constant projectiles, unlocked early.

  • There are six total; unlock them by showing echoes and quest items.

Equip the Dancing Outfit

  • Unlock via Mango Researcher in Gerudo Desert.

  • Increases Zelda’s spin radius and helps deflect projectiles.

Exploration Tips

Look Around

  • Move the camera (Right Stick) to spot hidden items, drops, or enemies.

Allow Yourself to Get Distracted

Utilize Traversal Echoes

  • Holmill: Reveals secret holes in dirt patches (Gerudo quest).

  • Flying Tile: Send Zelda across gaps or attack (Gerudo Desert cave).

  • Water Block: Create streams for traversal (Stilled Jabul Waters rift).

  • Bombfish: Blow obstacles and enemies (Upper Zora Rift).

Use Beds for Health Recovery

  • Soft Bed (Gerudo Oasis tent): Faster healing than Old Bed.

  • Silk Pyjamas Outfit: Speeds up healing in any bed.

Travel Faster

  • Carad Delo Echo helps you move quickly in straight lines.

  • Level 2 version is in the Eastern Temple.
